BalloonPong Approved Outing - Middletown
Some people took side trips for lunch at Pappadeaux or grocery shopping at Jungle Jim's, but pilots and crew competing in the Ohio Challenge this weekend in Middletown were also invited to the first BalloonPong approved outing.....paintball. Close to twenty people loaded their guns, put on their best camo, and went into the woods to shoot at each other. Just south of Middletown is a small gem called Painball Country. We were a little unsure what we were getting ourselves into, but what we found was a paintball heaven. The working farm had five obstacle courses, two woods courses, and enough guns and ammo to arm a small nation. We split into two teams and played elimination and capture the flag games. Highlights include Jim Cusick running the length of the course to win one game, BalloonPong mascot, Max, braving the paint to hang with the guys, and Debby Young dodging bullets to document the action for us. This will be the first of many such outings covered on BalloonPong as we try to capture the social side of ballooning as well as the comp.
